چکیده

Method Between 2006 and 2014, 72 patients met criteria for inclusion. Out of these 72, 59 had previous CAB and 13 had CAB + AVR. The surgical procedures performed in these series included 50 AVR and 22 AVR + CAB. Myocardial protection was delivered using mild systemic hypothermia and continuous cold blood retrograde and intermittent antegrade cardioplegia, avoiding any manipulation of the LIMA graft. Pre-operative demographics, operative characteristics, in-hospital complications and 30-day mortality were collected according to Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) standards.

Reoperative aortic valve replacement through upper hemisternotomy.

Reoperative aortic valve replacement (AVR) has become increasingly common (1). In patients with previous coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), minimally invasive reoperative AVR is the preferred approach since it allows the performance of no-touch technique for left internal mammary artery (LIMA) and minimal dissection around the vein grafts (2,3). Here, we present an 83-year-old man with sym...

Aortic Valve Replacement after Previous Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting with Patent Internal Mammary Artery

As the population ages, the number of patients who have undergone previous coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) requiring subsequent aortic valve replacement (AVR) will be increased. AVR is the current standard of therapy in patients with severe aortic valve disease, but is more complex in the context of prior CABG, and redo AVR after prior CABG is associated with a higher mortality than AVR ...
